Description
A modern budget backpackers' hotel, the A&O Hostel Munchen is located next to the Central Bus Station and is just a 10 minute walk from Theresienwiese, the site of the Munich Oktoberfest. The 145 simple guestrooms have functional furnishings and all include cable television, balconies and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations.

There are several places to eat in the area, including the Lowenbraukeller, sited next to the brewery of the same name, which serves traditional Bavarian dishes and houses a large beer garden. Munich Hackerbrucke station and the historic city centre, home of the Karlsplatz and the Frauenkirche, can all be found within one and a half kilometres of the hotel. Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport is 30 kilometres away and can be reached by car in approximately 45 minutes.

DirectionsFrom Berlin, Leipzig, Nuremburg, Regensburg, Landshut / Munich Airport (A9/ A92) and intersection Neufahrn, leave the A9 at the exit 76 for Munchen Schwabing. Follow the B2r and turn right into the Schenkendorfstr. Follow the Petueltunnel / Petuelring (later renamed the Goerg Brauchle Ring), left into the Landshuter Allee, right across the Donnersbergerbrücke and finally right into the Arnulfstrasse. Munich's extensive U bahn underground system is the most efficient way to get around the city. You can also use the same tickets on the S bahn commuter trains, buses and streetcars. Taxis are quick, but quite expensive.
